First, vacuum loose soot with a soft brush attachment - do not wipe or rub. Then apply Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:3 to the stained area. Leave for 10 minutes, scrub gently with a soft brush, and rinse. For deep oily soot stains, apply Lithofin OIL-EX as a poultice, cover with cling film, and leave for 12-24 hours. Rinse and repeat if needed. Seal with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop after treatment.
Expert tips
- Do not wet soot before dry-cleaning - water can drive soot particles deeper into porous stone
- Avoid rubbing soot into the surface
- Test cleaners in an inconspicuous area first
