Öljytahrojen Poisto — Portaittainen Lähestymistapa

Öljy- ja rasvatahrojen poistamiseen kivipinnoilta. Menetelmä riippuu siitä, kuinka vanha ja syvä tahra on.

Treatment Variants

Fresh oil stain (less than 24 hours old)

1. Lithofin OIL-EX — Blot excess oil with kitchen paper — do NOT wipe (wiping spreads the oil). Apply OIL-EX directly onto the stain. Leave for 15 minutes.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 15 minutes
2. Lithofin OIL-EX — Remove dissolved oil residue with clean kitchen paper. If a shadow remains, apply a second dose for 15 minutes. Rinse with clean water.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 15 minutes

Old oil stain (more than 24 hours, up to weeks)

1. Lithofin OIL-EX — Apply OIL-EX generously to the stain. Saturate kitchen paper or cotton wool with OIL-EX and press firmly onto the stain. Cover with cling film to prevent evaporation. Leave for 2-24 hours depending on severity.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 2-24 hours
2. Lithofin OIL-EX — Remove poultice. Check if stain has lightened. If visible oil remains, repeat the poultice with fresh OIL-EX — old stains often need 2-3 applications.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 2-24 hours per repeat
3. Lithofin MN Power-Clean — After oil extraction is complete, clean the treated area with diluted Power-Clean to remove any residual haze. Scrub lightly with nylon brush, rinse thoroughly.
   Dilution: 1:10 · Wait: 5 minutes

Deep-set oil stain (months old, deeply penetrated)

1. Lithofin OIL-EX — Apply OIL-EX as poultice: saturate cotton wool, press firmly, cover with cling film. Leave 24 hours. Remove and let stone dry 4-8 hours.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 24 hours + 4-8 hours drying
2. Lithofin OIL-EX — Apply second poultice, rotated 90 degrees from the first (oil migrates along crystal grain — changing direction catches different pathways). Leave 24 hours.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 24 hours
3. Lithofin OIL-EX — Third application if needed. Deep stains may require up to 4 applications. Each round extracts more oil from the pores. Stop when no further improvement is visible between applications.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 24 hours
4. Lithofin MN Power-Clean — Final deep clean of treated area. Dilute 1:5 for heavy residue. Scrub with nylon brush, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Allow to dry 24 hours.
   Dilution: 1:5 · Wait: 10 minutes dwell, 24 hours drying

Oil on highly porous stone (sandstone, limestone, concrete)

1. Clean water — Pre-wet the area AROUND the stain (not the stain itself) with clean water. This prevents the oil from spreading further into dry stone during treatment. The wet barrier stops capillary migration.
   Wait: 5 minutes to absorb
2. Lithofin OIL-EX — Apply OIL-EX as poultice to the stain area. On porous stone, oil often spreads wider than the visible stain — treat an area 10-15cm larger than visible discoloration. Cover with cling film, leave 12-24 hours.
   Dilution: undiluted · Wait: 12-24 hours
3. Lithofin OIL-EX — Repeat poultice if needed. Porous stone often needs 2-3 rounds. Between rounds, let stone dry completely (8-12 hours) so you can assess progress accurately — wet stone always looks darker.

4. Lithofin MN Stain-Stop — After successful oil removal, seal the entire surface with Stain-Stop to prevent future oil penetration. On porous stone, two coats are recommended: apply first coat, wait 15 minutes, apply second coat wet-on-wet.

Tips

• Tuoreet tahrat on paljon helpompi poistaa — toimi ensimmäisen tunnin aikana, jos mahdollista.
• Älä koskaan käytä vettä tuoreeseen öljytahraan — vesi työntää öljyn syvemmälle kiveen.
• Kääremenetelmä toimii kapillaaritoiminnalla: liuotin liuottaa öljyn ja imukykyinen materiaali vetää sen ulos kuivuessaan.
• Sovellusten välillä anna kiven kuivua kokonaan — et voi arvioida tahran syvyyttä märällä kivellä.
• Tummalla kivellä poistettu öljytahra voi jättää vaaleamman läiskän. Levitä Colour Intensifier sekoittaaksesi sen.

⚠️ Warnings

• Marmorilla ja kalkkikivellä: käytä MN Wash & Clean Power-Cleanin sijasta lopulliseen puhdistukseen (happoherkkyys).
• OIL-EX on liuotinpohjainen: varmista hyvä ilmanvaihto, ei avotulta, käytä käsineitä.
• Älä käytä OIL-EX:ää hartsisidotuilla pinnoilla (jotkut terrazzo, kvartsikomposiitti) — testaa ensin piilossa olevassa kohdassa.
• Poista öljysaastumisen lähde ennen käsittelyä — muuten tahra palaa.

Expected Result

Öljytahra poistettu kiven huokosista. Pinta on puhdas ja valmis uudelleen tiivistettäväksi.
