Sandstone Facade and exterior wall cladding - Complete Care Guide
From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: Within 1 week of installation, after grout has cured.
- Clean the new sandstone surface with Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:10 to remove any installation residues.
- Allow the surface to dry completely for 24-48 hours.
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop evenly using a soft cloth or sponge.
- Remove any excess product after 10-15 minutes.
- Allow 24 hours for the Stain-Stop to cure before exposing the surface to moisture or heavy use.

Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Daily or after each rain
- Wipe the surface with a damp cloth using Lithofin MN Easy-Clean (spray) or MN Wash & Clean (diluted in water).
- Inspect for any stains or dirt buildup and clean immediately.
- Ensure the surface is dry after cleaning to prevent water marks.

Do NOT:
- Never use vinegar or lemon-based cleaners.
- Never use abrasive sponges or steel wool.
- Never use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners.
- Avoid placing heavy objects directly on the sandstone surface.
- Do not allow organic materials to sit on the surface for extended periods.
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Every 6-12 months
- Apply Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:5 with a sponge or soft brush.
- Leave the cleaner on the surface for 5-10 minutes to penetrate.
- Gently scrub the surface with a soft brush to remove dirt and grime.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all residues.
- Dry the surface with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.

Protection & Sealing
Re-seal every: Every 1-2 years
- Perform a deep clean of the surface first.
- Allow the sandstone to dry completely for 24-48 hours.
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop evenly across the surface.
- Remove any excess after 10-15 minutes.
- Allow 24 hours for the Stain-Stop to cure before exposing to moisture.
