Oil rings on your marble top? NanoTOP seals pores in minutes.

Your freshly installed marble island keeps picking up oil rings after every family dinner. Lithofin NanoTOP stops those stains before they start, sealing the pores in less than ten minutes and curing within 24 hours.

What NanoTOP Does

NanoTOP is a neutral solvent-based impregnator for natural stone. Nano-sized fluoropolymers bond below the surface, lowering water absorption by 95 % and oil uptake by 90 %. The 6.9 pH formula leaves calcium carbonate unharmed while forming a vapour-permeable barrier only 50 nm thick.

When to Use

  • Kitchen countertops in marble - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Outdoor grills on granite worktops - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Restaurant tables made of limestone - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • High-traffic bar tops in sandstone - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Preventing oil-grease marks on concrete buffet stations - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².

How to Apply

  1. Shake the bottle, then flood the surface with undiluted product using a lint-free cloth or low-pressure sprayer.
  2. Spread evenly; keep the stone wet for 3 minutes so the 0.05 µm particles penetrate.
  3. After 5 minutes, wipe off all excess with a dry microfiber pad until the surface feels dry to the touch.
  4. Buff once more after 30 minutes to remove any haze.

Coverage: 20 m²/L on all finishes. Light foot traffic is possible after 2 hours; full moisture exposure only after 24 hours of curing.

Surface Compatibility

NanoTOP excels on marble, granite, limestone, sandstone, slate, bluestone, basalt, concrete, and terrazzo because the neutral pH avoids etching and the nano layer adapts to porosity from 0.3 % (granite) up to 18 % (sandstone). Good results are seen on porcelain and ceramic after a spot test. Do not use on non-absorbent glass or already coated surfaces.

Choosing the Right Product

For routine weekly cleaning, use Lithofin PRO Clean; its alkaline pH 10 removes food residue without stripping NanoTOP. For pre-installation impregnation of very porous stone, use Lithofin PRO Stain-Stop; it delivers deeper penetration but less surface sheen.

Pro Tips

  • Warm the stone to 20 °C before application; penetration increases by 15 % compared to 10 °C.
  • Two thin coats on highly porous sandstone give better uniformity than one heavy coat because solvent flash-off stays below 2 g/m².
  • Reapply after aggressive steam cleaning; tests show gloss retention drops by 10 % after 50 steam cycles.

Frequently asked questions

How long does NanoTOP protect a marble countertop?

Typical kitchen use shows 12-18 months before water beads flatten. Reapply when contact angle drops below 90°.

Can NanoTOP be used on granite grill surrounds exposed to 250 °C?

Yes. Thermal tests up to 300 °C showed no decomposition, but apply at below 30 °C and let cure 24 h first.

What is the difference between NanoTOP and Stain-Stop?

NanoTOP leaves a nano surface film adding 5-8 GU gloss; Stain-Stop penetrates deeper but stays completely invisible.

Will NanoTOP change the colour of limestone?

Colour deepening stays below ΔE 1.0, so tone shift is usually invisible to the eye.
