Lithofin Steel-Clean, for removing grease and general soiling.
Art. 317-07-NL
Your brushed stainless-steel fridge shows greasy handprints after every meal prep. Glass splashbacks collect aerosolised oil in days. One spray of Lithofin Steel-Clean removes the film instantly and leaves your kitchen surfaces streak-free.
What Steel-Clean Does
Steel-Clean is a neutral ready-to-use cleaner for stainless steel, glass, and glazed ceramic. With a pH of 7.5 it dissolves fatty acids and light mineral grime without attacking metal alloys or cured coatings. Non-ionic surfactants break surface tension in 30 seconds, so you wipe away fingerprints and cooking residue in one pass.
When to Use
- Fingerprints on fridge doors - use neat (0:1) for 20 ml/m².
- Grease haze on extractor hoods - use neat (0:1) for 20 ml/m².
- Water spots on chrome taps in bathrooms - use neat (0:1) for 20 ml/m².
- Cooktop control panels - spray neat, then polish with microfibre (0:1).
- Routine general cleaning of glazed ceramic backsplashes - use neat (0:1).
How to Apply
- Shake the bottle once, hold the nozzle 15 cm from the surface, and spray 20 ml/m².
- Wait 30 seconds for the surfactants to lift grease.
- Wipe with a clean microfibre cloth until the film is gone.
- Buff with the dry side of the cloth for a streak-free finish.
One 500 ml bottle covers ~50 m². The surface is dry and food-safe immediately; no curing time.
Surface Compatibility
Steel-Clean performs best on stainless steel grades 304 and 316, chrome-plated brass, anodised aluminium, toughened glass, and glazed ceramic tiles. The neutral formula contains no acids or chlorides, so it will not pit steel or etch glass. Do not use on unsealed wood, acrylic paint, or surfaces labelled "not suitable for cleaning agents."
Choosing the Right Product
For a protective sheen on appliances after cleaning, use Lithofin HOME Stainless Steel Polish. For stone countertops and mixed materials, choose Lithofin HOME Surface Cleaner.
Pro Tips
- Warm the metal to ~25 °C before spraying; the higher temperature lowers viscosity and speeds soil release.
- Fold your cloth into eight panels; switch to a clean panel every 2 m² to avoid re-depositing grease.
- On vertical surfaces work from bottom up; any run-off carries loosened dirt downward for a single wipe.

Frequently asked questions
Is Steel-Clean safe on brushed stainless steel?
Yes. The pH 7.5 formula contains no chlorides, so it will not create rust blooms on brushed finishes.
Can Steel-Clean be used on glass oven doors?
Yes, spray 20 ml/m² and wipe. The 50 m²/L rate leaves no film and withstands up to 200 °C once dry.
How often should I apply Steel-Clean in a busy kitchen?
Daily use is acceptable; neutral chemistry prevents cumulative dulling even after 365 cycles.
Does Steel-Clean remove limescale on taps?
It loosens light water spots but not hard limescale. For scale use Lithofin KF Hygiene Cleaner.
