Clinker Outdoor terrace and steps - Complete Care Guide

From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know

Initial Care (After Installation)

When: Within 1 week of installation, after grout has cured

  1. Clean the new clinker surface with Lithofin KF Cement Residue Remover diluted as per instructions to remove any installation residues.
  2. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to ensure no residues remain.
  3. Allow the surface to dry completely (24-48 hours).
  4. Apply Lithofin KF Protective Impregnator evenly using a soft cloth or a sprayer.
  5. Remove any excess product after 10-15 minutes.
  6. Allow 24 hours to cure before using the terrace or steps.

Daily Maintenance

Frequency: Daily or after each use

  1. Sweep or hose down the surface to remove dirt and debris.
  2. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth using Lithofin KF Ceramic-Clean or diluted Lithofin KF Easy-Clean.
  3. Clean spills immediately to prevent staining, especially from oils or acidic substances.
  4. Dry the surface after cleaning to prevent water marks.

Do NOT:

  • Never use vinegar or lemon-based cleaners.
  • Never use abrasive sponges or steel wool.
  • Never use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners.
  • Do not allow standing water to remain on the surface for extended periods.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals that can damage the surface.

Periodic Deep Cleaning

Frequency: Every 6-12 months

  1. Apply Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner diluted according to instructions with a sponge or soft brush.
  2. Leave the cleaner on the surface for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Scrub gently with a soft brush to remove any stubborn stains.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.

Protection & Sealing

Re-seal every: Every 1-2 years

  1. Deep clean the surface first using Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner.
  2. Allow to dry completely (24-48 hours).
  3. Apply Lithofin KF Protective Impregnator evenly across the surface.
  4. Remove any excess product after 10-15 minutes.
  5. Allow 24 hours to cure before use.
