Bluestone Outdoor terrace and steps - Complete Care Guide
From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: Within 1 week of installation, after grout has cured.
- Clean the new bluestone surface with Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:10 to remove any installation residues.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry completely (24-48 hours).
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop evenly with a soft cloth or sponge.
- Remove any excess after 10-15 minutes.
- Allow 24 hours to cure before using the terrace or steps.
Products needed: Lithofin MN Power-Clean, Lithofin MN Stain-Stop
Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Daily or after each use
- Sweep or hose down the surface to remove dirt and debris.
- Wipe the surface with a damp cloth using Lithofin MN Easy-Clean (spray) or MN Wash & Clean (diluted in water).
- Clean spills immediately to prevent staining.
- Dry the surface after cleaning to prevent water marks.

Do NOT:
- Never use vinegar or lemon-based cleaners.
- Never use abrasive sponges or steel wool.
- Never use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners.
- Do not allow standing water to sit on the surface for extended periods.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals that can damage the stone.
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Every 6-12 months
- Apply Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:5 with a sponge or soft brush.
- Leave for 5-10 minutes to penetrate.
- Scrub gently with a soft brush to remove any stubborn dirt.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry the surface with a soft cloth.

Protection & Sealing
Re-seal every: Every 1-2 years
- Deep clean the surface first using Lithofin MN Power-Clean.
- Allow to dry completely (24-48 hours).
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop evenly across the surface.
- Remove any excess after 10-15 minutes.
- Allow to cure for 24 hours before using the terrace or steps.
