Grey cement film on new tiles? Dissolve it in minutes with KF Remover.

Your newly laid porcelain floor looks dull because a grey film clings to each tile joint. Ordinary detergents bounce off the hardened grout. Lithofin KF Cement Residue Remover strips away that cement haze in minutes, leaving the showroom finish you expected.

What KF Remover Does

KF Remover is an acidic cleaner for ceramic and porcelain tiles. At pH 1.5 it dissolves Portland-cement binders and calcium carbonate, breaking the crystalline bond that causes haze. Sulfamic acid at 120 g/L converts insoluble cement particles into water-soluble salts that rinse away without scrubbing.

When to Use

How to Apply

  1. Pre-wet the surface until uniformly damp, avoiding puddles.
  2. Spread the 1:3-1:5 solution with a mop or white pad; use a brush for joints. Time: 5 min.
  3. Agitate once more; do not let the solution dry. Time: 3 min.
  4. Rinse twice with clean water, then neutralise with KF Conditioning Cleaner at 1:200. Time: 2 min.

Covers 5-15 m² /L depending on dilution. No drying time; the floor is ready for foot traffic after final rinse.

Surface Compatibility

The formula excels on porcelain, ceramic, and clinker because their Mohs ≥5, acid-resistant matrices tolerate pH 1.5 without etching. It performs well on granite, slate, basalt, concrete, terracotta, cotto and clinker when the surface is pre-wet to limit penetration. Do not use on marble, limestone, travertine, bluestone or metal fittings.

Choosing the Right Product

For routine maintenance of glazed tiles, use KF Conditioning Cleaner. For sealing absorbent cotto after the initial clean, use KF Protective Impregnator. For cement haze on natural stone, switch to MN Builders’ Clean.

Pro Tips

  • Work in 5 m² zones to keep the acid active and easy to rinse.
  • Always neutralise with a mild alkaline wash to stop latent acid from dulling grout joints.
  • Warm water (25 °C) accelerates chemical reaction by approx. 30 %, reducing dwell time.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove cement haze with KF Remover?

Dilute 1:3 for heavy film, spread, wait 5 min, agitate, rinse twice. Coverage 5–10 m² /L.

Can KF Remover be used on porcelain shower walls?

Yes, porcelain is acid-resistant. Use 1:5 dilution for haze or apply neat for limescale spots.

Is KF Remover safe on granite countertops?

Granite’s Mohs 7 resists pH 1.5, but always pre-wet and limit dwell to 3 min to avoid darkening.

Do I need to neutralise after using KF Remover on ceramic tiles?

Yes. Rinse twice, then mop with KF Conditioning Cleaner at 1:200 to raise pH and stop re-deposits.
