Lithofin Resin-EX
Art. 037-11-B
Epoxy grout haze turns your freshly tiled shower and the adjoining rough granite floor matt and sticky. Paint splatters on the adjoining concrete step refuse to budge. Resin-EX restores the original surface in one application, even on vertical wall tiles.
What Resin-EX Does
Resin-EX is a neutral, solvent-rich cleaner for ceramic, porcelain and natural stone. A balanced mix of glycol and ketone solvents (pH≈7, VOC 720 g/L) penetrates cured epoxy up to 3 µm thick and softens it within 15 minutes at 20 °C. The liquefied resin emulsifies on contact with water, so you rinse everything away without leaving an oily film.
When to Use
- Fresh epoxy haze on shower porcelain tiles - use neat, 200 ml/m².
- Old joint residues on rough basalt pavers - use neat, 200 ml/m².
- Paint overspray on polished marble window sills - use neat, 200 ml/m².
- Graffiti shadow on exterior clinker bricks - use neat, 200 ml/m².
How to Apply
- Shake the bottle, pour Resin-EX undiluted onto a cloth or white pad.
- Spread evenly; keep the surface wet for 10-20 min, cover with foil if needed.
- Scrub with a nylon brush until the resin turns into a slurry.
- Rinse twice with plenty of clean water and wipe dry.
Covers 5 m² per litre on smooth stone and tiles. Surfaces can be walked on as soon as they are dry to the touch, typically after 30 minutes at 20 °C.
Surface Compatibility
Excellent on dense stones such as granite, basalt, and clinker; good on acid-sensitive materials like marble because the neutral solvent mix will not etch the 3-Mohs surface. Always test on polished sandstone or quartz-composite. Do not use on plastics, freshly lacquered wood, or any material that can swell in strong solvents.
Choosing the Right Product
For daily wipe-downs after you have removed the epoxy, use Universal Wash & Clean. For long-term stain protection once the surface is perfectly clean, apply Universal Stain-Stop at 10 m²/L.
Pro Tips
- Warm the area to 25 °C with a fan heater first; penetration speed doubles with every 10 °C rise.
- Cover vertical applications with plastic wrap to prevent evaporation and maintain full activity.
- Neutralise lingering solvent odour by washing once with Universal Wash & Clean 1:20; it drops VOC readings below 50 ppm in 5 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Can Resin-EX damage polished marble?
No etching occurs because the formula is solvent-based and pH≈7, but always test a 5×5 cm patch first.
How long should Resin-EX stay on granite?
Leave 10–20 min at 20 °C. Hardened epoxy > 3 µm may need a second pass.
Is Resin-EX safe on porcelain mosaics?
Yes, porcelain (Mohs 7) is chemically inert to the solvents. Rinse thoroughly to avoid slip risk.
What is the coverage rate of Resin-EX?
Expect 5 m² per litre on smooth stone or tile—rough surfaces absorb slightly more.
