Cement residue (also called cement haze or cement film) is a thin, whitish-grey film left on stone and tile surfaces after grouting or installation. When cement mortar or grout dries, mineral deposits remain on the surface that cannot be removed with water alone.

Step-by-step instructions

Use Lithofin CEMENT-AWAY diluted 1:3 to 1:5. Pre-wet the surface. Apply, scrub, rinse. For terrazzo: treat as calcareous stone with extra dilution.

Expert tips

  • Quartz composite surfaces may be sensitive to strong acids
  • Terrazzo should be treated like marble - use diluted solution
  • Concrete can absorb acid - pre-wet first
