Rust Stains - Terracotta

Professional advice and the right Lithofin products for your terracotta

Medium

Rust stains on stone are caused by the oxidation of iron - either from iron-containing minerals within the stone itself, or from external metal objects in contact with the stone. These distinctive orange-brown stains can be extremely stubborn and require specialised treatment. Internal rust occurs when iron pyrite or other iron minerals within the stone oxidise due to moisture exposure.
