Concrete Outdoor pavers / driveway - Complete Care Guide

From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know

Initial Care (After Installation)

When: After 28 days curing, in dry weather

  1. Allow new concrete to cure fully (28 days minimum)
  2. Clean with Lithofin MN Power-Clean 1:5
  3. Allow to dry completely
  4. Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop for maximum protection
  5. Two coats on very porous concrete pavers

Products needed: Lithofin MN Power-Clean, Lithofin MN Stain-Stop

Daily Maintenance

Frequency: Monthly sweeping, seasonal cleaning

  1. Regular sweeping to remove organic debris
  2. Periodic hosing
  3. Address oil drips promptly on driveways

Products: Lithofin MN Wash & Clean

Do NOT:

  • Do not use high pressure in joints (can remove sand fill)
  • Avoid strong acids on coloured concrete (may bleach)

Periodic Deep Cleaning

Frequency: Annually

  1. Lithofin ALGEX for biological growth, leave 24-48h, rinse
  2. Lithofin MN Outdoor Cleaner for general soiling
  3. Re-sand joints if needed after pressure washing

Protection & Sealing

Re-seal every: Every 2-3 years

  1. Deep clean first
  2. Allow complete drying
  3. Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop
  4. For colour enhancement: MN Concrete Coating instead

Troubleshooting

Oil stains (driveway)

Lithofin OIL-EX poultice. Concrete is porous - leave 12-24 hours. May need multiple applications for old stains.

Efflorescence on new concrete

Common in first year - brush off, clean with MN Builders' Clean diluted 1:5. Usually resolves after first winter.

Algae/moss between joints

Lithofin ALGEX applied to joints and surface. Re-sand joints after treatment.

Faded colour

Lithofin MN Concrete Coating for significant colour renewal. MN Colour Intensifier for subtler enhancement.
