Limestone Interior floor - Complete Care Guide
From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: After grout has fully cured (7 days for limestone)
- After installation and grout curing, clean with Lithofin MN Power-Clean 1:10
- Allow to dry completely (48-72 hours for limestone)
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop - limestone is very porous, two coats recommended
- Apply second coat after 30 minutes
- Remove excess, allow 24 hours to cure
Products needed: Lithofin MN Power-Clean, Lithofin MN Stain-Stop
Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Daily to weekly depending on traffic
- Mop with Lithofin MN Wash & Clean diluted in water
- Sweep or vacuum first to remove grit (abrasion risk)
- Clean spills immediately - especially acidic liquids
Products: Lithofin MN Wash & Clean
Do NOT:
- NEVER use acid-based cleaners - limestone is calcareous
- NEVER use vinegar, lemon, or citric acid products
- Do not drag furniture - use felt pads
- Avoid excessive water - wring mop well
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Every 3-6 months
- Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:5
- Apply, leave 5-10 minutes
- Scrub with soft brush
- Rinse thoroughly

Protection & Sealing
Re-seal every: Every 2-3 years (limestone is porous - needs more frequent re-sealing)
- Deep clean first
- Dry completely
- Apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop (two coats on very porous limestone)
- Remove excess, allow 24h curing

Troubleshooting
Etch marks from acidic spills
For polished limestone: MN Polish Cream or MN Polish Liquid. For honed limestone: light re-honing may be needed professionally.
Foot traffic wear pattern
Deep clean with MN Power-Clean, then re-seal. For polished limestone, professional re-polishing may be needed.
Efflorescence (white salt deposits)
Brush off with dry nylon brush. Clean with MN Power-Clean (alkaline). Investigate moisture source. Re-seal after drying.
