Soapstone Kitchen countertop - Complete Care Guide
From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: Upon installation and monthly for the first year
- Clean the surface with Lithofin MN Wash & Clean, diluted 1:10 with water.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
- Apply a thin layer of mineral oil using a soft cloth.
- Allow the oil to absorb for 30 minutes, then wipe off excess.
- Repeat oiling monthly for the first year to develop an even patina.

Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Daily or after each use
- Wipe the countertop with a damp cloth.
- Use Lithofin MN Wash & Clean for stubborn stains, diluted 1:20 with water.
- Dry the surface with a soft towel to prevent water spots.

Do NOT:
- Never use acidic cleaners like vinegar or lemon.
- Never cut directly on the surface to avoid scratches.
- Never place hot pots directly on the surface.
- Never use abrasive pads or steel wool.
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Every 6 months
- Remove all items from the countertop.
- Apply Lithofin MN Power-Clean undiluted to the surface.
- Allow it to dwell for 10 minutes.
- Scrub gently with a soft brush and rinse with clean water.
- Dry thoroughly and reapply mineral oil if desired.
