Lithofin Cotto Easy-Clean
Art. 138-11-B
Your waxed terracotta kitchen floor shows streaks after every mop, yet you cannot risk stripping the protective wax. Cotto Easy-Clean solves this daily headache, giving you a fresh surface in one pass without rinsing.
What Cotto Easy-Clean Does
Cotto Easy-Clean is a pH-neutral maintenance cleaner for cotto and terracotta. Mild surfactants (pH 7.0) lift grease and soil, while plant-based care additives 0.3 % by weight renew the wax sheen instead of eroding it. At 100-150 m²/L diluted, the solution leaves no film and dries streak-free in under 5 minutes.
When to Use
- Freshly waxed cotto floors - 1 capful/5 L for daily wiping.
- High-traffic terracotta in cafés - 2 capfuls/5 L for weekly deep mop.
- Impregnated porch tiles exposed to dust - 1 capful/5 L after rain.
- Marble skirting in a cotto room - 1 capful/5 L, safe on acid-sensitive stone.
- Post-party daily maintenance catch-up - 2 capfuls/5 L to remove sticky spills.
How to Apply
- Vacuum or sweep the floor (PT5M).
- Add 1-2 capfuls (25-50 ml) to 5 L warm water and mix (PT5M).
- Mop evenly with a well-wrung cotton or microfibre mop; do not flood (PT5M).
- Let the surface air-dry; no rinsing required (PT5M).
Coverage: 100-150 m²/L on cotto, 150-200 m²/L on granite. The floor is walkable immediately; no curing time.
Surface Compatibility
The neutral formula excels on terracotta and cotto because it cleans without dissolving wax or attacking the very-high porosity (Mohs 3). It performs well on marble, granite, limestone, slate, and porcelain thanks to a non-etching pH and low residue. Do not rely on it for heavy cement residue removal; choose a stronger cleaner for that job.
Choosing the Right Product
For re-waxing and sheen build-up, use Lithofin TC Classic Wax. For stripping stubborn wax layers or greasy build-up, use KF Intensive Cleaner. Cotto Easy-Clean covers your regular mopping needs in between these treatments.
Pro Tips
- Always wring the mop to 70 % dryness; excess water can open the pores of cotto and dull the wax.
- Alternate every fourth wash with clean water only to monitor wax integrity.
- Use white pads under furniture legs; a cleaner floor reduces abrasive grit that can cut into soft terracotta (Mohs 3).

Frequently asked questions
Can Cotto Easy-Clean be used on unsealed cotto?
Yes. The neutral formula penetrates open pores without swelling clay. Use 2 capfuls per 5 L for better soil release.
Will Cotto Easy-Clean dull a polished marble border?
No. pH 7 and low solvent content mean zero etching. Coverage on polished marble reaches 200 m²/L.
How often should I mop terracotta with Cotto Easy-Clean?
For homes, use 1 capful/5 L 2–3 times per week. In cafés, daily mopping at 2 capfuls maintains hygiene.
Does Cotto Easy-Clean remove wax residue?
It softens light wax haze but will not strip layers. For removal, switch to KF Intensive Cleaner or WAX-OFF.
