Lithofin STAINSTOP >W<
Art. 094-11-B
Your new dark granite worktop keeps showing greasy fingerprints and water marks. Rainwater is leaving rings on the sandstone terrace. STAINSTOP W seals those pores before liquids can soak in, giving you 24-hour protection after a single application.
What STAINSTOP W Does
STAINSTOP W is a neutral water-based impregnator for absorbent natural stone. With a pH of 7.5, the silane/siloxane micro-emulsion penetrates 2-4 mm, bonding to the capillaries and turning them water- and oil-repellent. Coverage reaches 12-15 m²/L, lowering surface absorption by up to 98 % while keeping the finish matt.
When to Use
- Kitchen countertops in granite: undiluted, one generous coat.
- Polished bathroom marble: undiluted, wipe on, polish off after 15 min.
- Outdoor sandstone terrace: undiluted spray, back-roll pooled areas.
- Concrete pavers before winter: undiluted flood coat, second coat while surface is still damp.
- Re-impregnating high-traffic terrazzo floors: undiluted, microfiber applicator.
How to Apply
- Clean surface thoroughly and allow it to dry for 24-48 h until moisture content is under 2 %.
- Shake STAINSTOP W, pour undiluted onto the stone or into a tray, then spread evenly with a lint-free cloth or low-pressure sprayer.
- Keep the surface wet for 5 min; add more product where it soaks in.
- After 15 min, remove excess with a dry cloth. Rinse tools with water.
Average consumption is 80 ml/m². Full curing takes 24 h; light foot traffic is possible after 2 h at 20 °C.
Surface Compatibility
The neutral formula will not etch acid-sensitive stones such as limestone, yet it penetrates low-porosity basalt thanks to its 4 nm particle size. Excellent results on dark granite, sandstone, slate, concrete, and porous cotto. Do not use on glazed ceramic, non-porous porcelain, or surfaces that need a gloss finish.
Choosing the Right Product
For daily maintenance after impregnation, use Lithofin Universal Clean & Care-neutral pH 7 cleaner that leaves a protective film. For solvent-based deep protection on very dense stone, switch to MN Stain-Stop. STAINSTOP W remains the safer indoor choice thanks to low VOC <50 g/L.
Pro Tips
- Warm stone (20-25 °C) increases penetration depth by 15 %, so avoid cold mornings.
- Mask adjacent glass; cured siloxane film can only be removed mechanically.
- Test water repellency after curing by placing a 5 ml water drop-beading height ≥3 mm means success.
