From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: After installation in dry weather
- Clean with Lithofin MN Power-Clean 1:5
- Allow to dry completely
- Apply Lithofin MN Basic Protection (basalt is very dense - less product needed)
- For colour enhancement: MN Colour Intensifier instead
Products needed: Lithofin MN Power-Clean, Lithofin MN Basic Protection
Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Seasonal (basalt is very low-maintenance)
- Occasional sweeping
- Seasonal hosing
- Annual deep clean
Products: Lithofin MN Wash & Clean
Do NOT:
- Basalt is extremely durable - very few restrictions
- Avoid leaving metal objects on wet surface (rust transfer)
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Annually
- Lithofin MN Outdoor Cleaner or ALGEX for biological growth
- Pressure wash safely
- Rinse thoroughly

Protection & Sealing
Re-seal every: Every 3-5 years
- Deep clean, dry
- Re-apply MN Basic Protection or MN Stain-Stop

Troubleshooting
Algae in shaded areas
Lithofin ALGEX. Basalt is acid-resistant so treatment is straightforward.
White salt deposits
Lithofin CEMENT-AWAY diluted 1:5. Basalt is acid-resistant - safe to use.
