Lithofin MN Care-Seal
Art. 170-11-B
Your sealed marble foyer has started to dull and water no longer beads after months of foot traffic. Lithofin MN Care-Seal steps in as a quick mop-on refresher that replaces lost repellency and sheen in under 5 minutes.
What Care-Seal Does
Care-Seal is a neutral maintenance sealer for natural stone. The pH-7.5 polymer micro-emulsion deposits a 0.1 µm protective film that renews water- and oil-repellency, closes micro-scratches, and dries within 3 minutes. One litre, diluted, covers 50-100 m², extending the interval between full impregnations by up to 12 months.
When to Use
- Polished marble bathroom floor - dilute 50 ml/10 L, weekly wipe.
- Rough granite patio after rain staining - dilute 100 ml/10 L, monthly mop.
- High-porosity sandstone kitchen tiles needing interim protection - dilute 80 ml/10 L.
- Commercial terrazzo lobby under heavy traffic - dilute 100 ml/10 L, fortnightly auto-scrubber pass.
- Routine daily maintenance where a one-step clean-and-seal is preferred - dilute 60 ml/10 L.
How to Apply
- Vacuum or damp-wipe to remove loose grit.
- Mix 50-100 ml Care-Seal with 10 L warm water (0.5-1 %).
- Mop or wipe evenly; keep surface damp for 2 minutes.
- Allow to air-dry; do not rinse.
At 10-20 ml/m² the diluted solution treats 50-100 m²/L. Surface is walk-safe after 5 minutes; full hardness forms in 30 minutes.
Surface Compatibility
The neutral formula will not etch acid-sensitive marble or limestone, yet bonds strongly to low-porosity stones like granite and basalt. It compensates for very-high porosity in sandstone. Do not use on unsealed porous stone or on high-gloss polished slabs where visible residue may appear.
Choosing the Right Product
For long-term oil and wine resistance, use MN Stain-Stop. For initial sealing of newly laid tiles, use MN Basic Protection. Care-Seal slots between these treatments as the weekly-to-monthly maintenance coat.
Pro Tips
- Alternate Care-Seal with MN Wash & Clean to avoid film build-up; the neutral pH of both products maintains sealer integrity.
- Warm water (35 °C) improves polymer flow, increasing coverage by up to 10 %.
- Buff with a white pad after drying to raise gloss on marble without additional chemicals.

Frequently asked questions
How often do I apply Care-Seal on marble?
Use every 1–4 weeks. High-traffic foyers may need weekly application; low-use bathrooms can wait a month.
Will underfloor heating affect Care-Seal?
Yes. Heated floors speed drying to 2 minutes, so work in small sections to avoid streaks.
Does Care-Seal replace MN Stain-Stop?
No. MN Stain-Stop is a deep impregnator lasting 3–5 years; Care-Seal is a thin maintenance film renewed weekly-monthly.
Is Care-Seal safe for pets and children after drying?
Yes. The low-VOC film is inert once dry. Wait 5 minutes before allowing traffic.
