Dull polished stone regains showroom shine in one quick mop

Your polished marble living-room floor looks flat, traffic lanes appear grey, and damp mopping no longer brings back the shine. Care-Sheen corrects that in one pass, leaving a micro-thin gloss film that dries in minutes and resists scuffing for up to 12 weeks.

What Care-Sheen Does

Care-Sheen is a neutral maintenance finish for natural stone and ceramic surfaces. The pH-8 polymer dispersion bonds to microscopic pores, forming a 0.5 µm film that raises light reflectance by 25 %. Undiluted use covers 20 m² per litre; a 1:10 dilution stretches coverage to 200 m², ideal for low-traffic granite.

When to Use

  • Polished marble foyer losing gloss - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Bathroom porcelain tiles with water spotting - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Granite kitchen island that sees occasional cutting - dilute 1:10, 10 ml/m².
  • Newly honed limestone hallway after first seal - use undiluted, 50 ml/m².
  • Rough commercial granite lobby needing quick shine - dilute 1:10, 10 ml/m².

How to Apply

  1. Shake bottle for 30 s, then pour required quantity into a clean bucket.
  2. Dip a lint-free mop or soft cloth, wring lightly, and spread in a thin, even film.
  3. Do not rework drying sections; allow surface to air-dry for 30 min.
  4. Optional: buff with a white pad after 60 min to heighten gloss by a further 10 %.

Undiluted coverage: 20 m²/L. Diluted 1:10 coverage: 200 m²/L. No rinsing. Floor is walkable once dry; full film hardens after 2 h.

Surface Compatibility

Care-Sheen performs best on polished marble, granite, porcelain, and glazed ceramic because its neutral pH does not attack acid-sensitive calcite while the polymer anchors well in low-porosity substrates. It also suits limestone, bluestone, basalt, glass-mosaic, quartz-composite, and terrazzo. Do not use on outdoor slabs or any surface that must remain water-vapour open.

Choosing the Right Product

For long-term stain protection, use MN Stain-Stop before Care-Sheen. For day-to-day cleaning between gloss refreshes, mop with MN Wash & Clean at 20 ml per 10 L water.

Pro Tips

  • Always clean with a pH-neutral detergent like Wash & Clean first; dirt trapped under the film dulls reflectance by up to 40 %.
  • Apply two thin coats instead of one heavy coat on porous limestone; this prevents streaks and improves wear resistance by 30 %.
  • Buffing with a high-speed machine (1500 rpm) after drying compresses the film, making it more scratch-resistant on Mohs-7 granite.

Frequently asked questions

Can Care-Sheen be used on polished marble every week?

Weekly use is unnecessary; one coat lasts 8–12 weeks under normal traffic. Over-application can cause build-up that needs stripping.

Does Care-Sheen change the slip resistance of granite?

The cured film has a coefficient of friction of 0.55, similar to dry granite. It does not make the surface slippery when applied thinly.

How do I remove Care-Sheen from limestone if I over-apply?

Use Lithofin MN Power-Clean diluted 1:5; scrub for 5 min and rinse. The alkaline cleaner breaks the acrylic film without etching limestone.

Is Care-Sheen suitable for glass-mosaic shower walls?

Yes, apply a very thin film at 10 ml/m². The product repels soap residue and withstands water at 40 °C.
