Lithofin MN Polish Cream Black
Art. 176-21-EU
Your polished black granite countertop in the kitchen used to reflect light like a mirror, but daily wiping leaves dull smears and tiny water spots. Lithofin MN Polish Crème -zwart- restores that deep, inky shine in one quick application, sealing micro-scratches and boosting water repellency.
What Polish Crème Does
Polish Crème is a neutral maintenance polish for dark natural stone. With a pH of 7.5 it lays down micro-thin wax and silicone resins that fill pores ≤0.2 µm and harden immediately. The black pigment masks minute abrasions, while the hydrophobic film raises water contact angle to 95 ° within 10 minutes, so spills bead instead of soaking in.
When to Use
- Black granite vanity tops - apply undiluted, 100 ml/m².
- Polished basalt window sills - apply undiluted, 100 ml/m².
- Small marble shelves that lost gloss - apply undiluted, 100 ml/m², expect extra buffing.
- Slate bathroom ledges after deep cleaning - apply undiluted, 100 ml/m² to renew sheen.
- Follow-up to stain-protection treatments - use undiluted after surface has cured 48 h.
How to Apply
- Shake the bottle 10 seconds, then pour a hazelnut-sized amount onto a soft cotton cloth.
- Massage the cream over 1 m² in tight circles for 60 seconds.
- Let the film haze for 2 minutes, then buff with a clean microfiber until the cloth glides freely.
- For higher gloss, repeat once after 15 minutes; do not rinse.
You cover 10 m² per litre (≈5 m² per 500 ml). Surface can be used immediately; full water repellency reaches peak after 30 minutes.
Surface Compatibility
Granite and basalt score Mohs 7 and accept the wax matrix without colour shift, giving an “excellent” rating. Polished marble, slate and bluestone score Mohs 3-4; the neutral formula will not etch them, but you may need extra hand-buffing to close their medium porosity. Do not use on honed, unpolished or rough stone, as the cream will streak.
Choosing the Right Product
For long-term oil and wine protection, use MN Stain-Stop first. For routine weekly washing, switch to MN Wash & Clean. Polish Crème sits between the two: it renews gloss and adds short-term repellency.
Pro Tips
- Warm the stone to 20-25 °C with a hairdryer; the cream spreads 25 % farther and buffs faster.
- Use a white non-abrasive pad on edges; it applies even pressure, preventing darker streaks.
- Apply a second coat only after the first coat turns fully transparent; this doubles the water contact angle.

Frequently asked questions
How often can I reapply Polish Crème on granite?
You may reapply every 4-6 weeks; film thickness stays below 2 µm so no build-up occurs.
Will Polish Crème darken marble?
Only polished, dark-coloured marble darkens slightly (ΔE ≤1). Light marble shows no visible change.
Can Polish Crème be used after Lithofin MN Stain-Stop?
Yes, wait 48 h for Stain-Stop to cure, then buff Polish Crème; it will not block the impregnator’s breathability.
What cloth is best for Polish Crème?
Use a lint-free cotton cloth for spreading and a 320 g/m² microfiber for final buffing to reach GU 85+.
