From installation to daily maintenance: everything you need to know
Initial Care (After Installation)
When: After installation in warm, dry weather
- Clean with Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner diluted 1:10
- Allow to dry completely (several dry days needed)
- Apply Lithofin TC Impregnator generously - outdoor cotto needs maximum protection
- Apply two coats for best frost resistance
- Allow 24h between coats and 48h before rain exposure
Products needed: Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner, Lithofin TC Impregnator
Daily Maintenance
Frequency: Monthly sweeping, seasonal cleaning
- Regular sweeping to remove leaves
- Seasonal hosing
- Annual deep clean and re-seal check
Products: Lithofin KF Conditioning Cleaner
Do NOT:
- Never use wax outdoors (not weather-resistant)
- Do not pressure wash at close range
- Do not let debris accumulate
Periodic Deep Cleaning
Frequency: Annually (spring)
- Lithofin ALGEX for biological growth, leave 24-48h
- Brush and rinse gently
- Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner for remaining soiling

Protection & Sealing
Re-seal every: Every 1-2 years (outdoor cotto needs frequent re-sealing)
- Deep clean, dry completely
- Re-apply Lithofin TC Impregnator (two coats)
- Apply in dry weather, avoid frost for 48h

Troubleshooting
Frost damage (spalling)
Cotto must be well-sealed to survive frost. Damaged tiles need replacement. Seal remaining tiles with two coats of TC Impregnator.
Green growth
Lithofin ALGEX - spray, leave 24-48h, brush and rinse.
Colour fading
Lithofin TC Ever-Sheen to restore and enhance colour. Apply after deep cleaning.
