Coverage: 5-15 m²/L
Slippery polished floors become safe within 15 minutes—no visible change.

Rain-slick shoes on a polished hotel lobby, soapy water on a marble bathroom, or chlorinated splashes around a pool can all turn beautiful floors into hazards. Lithofin Anti-Slip steps in to raise the wet coefficient of friction without changing the look of your surface.

What Anti-Slip Does

Anti-Slip is an acidic safety treatment for polished and glazed surfaces. At pH ≈ 2.3 it reacts with silica or calcium carbonate, creating an invisible micro-texture 0.5-2 µm deep that increases grip up to 50 %. Because the gel is ready to use, every litre treats 5-15 m², depending on porosity.

When to Use

  • Polished marble bathroom floors - undiluted, 80-100 ml/m², 5-8 min contact
  • Wet-area porcelain tiles around showers - undiluted, 70-90 ml/m², 10 min
  • Granite pool surrounds - undiluted, 150-200 ml/m², 15 min
  • Commercial ceramic entrance lobbies - undiluted, 70-90 ml/m², 12 min
  • Outdoor stone steps facing outdoor-cleaning challenges - undiluted, 120 ml/m², 10 min

How to Apply

  1. Clean the surface with MN Wash & Clean and rinse; floor must be perfectly free of soap film.
  2. Apply Anti-Slip undiluted with a sponge or mop at the rate specified above.
  3. Spread evenly and keep wet; allow 5-15 minutes depending on stone hardness.
  4. Rinse thoroughly until the runoff water reaches neutral pH (≈7) and remove residue.

Coverage: 5-15 m²/L. Surface is walk-safe immediately after rinsing; full chemical reaction stabilises in 24 h. Reapply every 12-24 months in heavy traffic zones.

Surface Compatibility

Anti-Slip performs excellently on glazed ceramic, porcelain, and dense stones such as granite. It is also effective on acid-sensitive stones like marble and limestone when contact does not exceed 8 minutes, preventing etching. The controlled acid action forms micro-pits smaller than dust particles, so gloss loss is minimal. Do not use on already textured, honed, or surfaces where any dulling is unacceptable.

Choosing the Right Product

For routine cleaning after treatment, use MN Wash & Clean. For ongoing maintenance in ceramic restrooms, switch to KF Conditioning Cleaner. Anti-Slip adds safety; the other products keep the floor clean so the texture remains effective.

Pro Tips

  • Test a 20×20 cm patch first; measure gloss before and after to confirm acceptable change.
  • For marble, neutralise with a 1 % sodium bicarbonate rinse; this halts acid activity instantly.
  • Record application date; re-treat when slip-test pendulum value drops below R10 to maintain compliance.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I leave Anti-Slip on marble?

Limit contact to 5–8 minutes on acid-sensitive marble to prevent etching, then rinse until neutral.

Does Anti-Slip change the appearance of polished granite?

Gloss loss on granite is under 3 GU when contact stays within 15 minutes; colour remains unchanged.

How often do I reapply Anti-Slip in a busy restaurant entrance?

Plan on 12-month intervals; high traffic and daily cleaning can smooth the micro-texture over time.

Can Anti-Slip be used on glazed ceramic shower floors?

Yes, apply undiluted at 70–90 ml/m², wait 10 minutes, and rinse; coverage reaches 15 m²/L.
