Coverage: 25 m²/L
Patchy, stain-prone concrete? MN Betoncoating locks in colour and blocks oil in one coat.

Your driveway pavers fade to dull grey and absorb oil spots after every barbecue. One roller coat of Lithofin MN Betoncoating - Black (article 962) revives the deep charcoal tone and blocks stains before they start.

What MN Betoncoating Does

MN Betoncoating is a neutral protective coating for porous concrete. The solvent-borne acrylic polymer (pH ≈7) penetrates up to 2 mm, then forms a 3 µm film that repels water (contact angle >100°) and oil for 3-5 years. Black pigments lodge in the surface pores, evening out colour without forming a thick varnish. One litre covers 25 m².

When to Use

  • Concrete patio slabs after high-pressure washing - apply neat, 40 ml/m².
  • Driveway pavers suffering oil drips - apply neat, 40 ml/m².
  • Garden paths exposed to frost cycles - apply neat, 40 ml/m².
  • Vertical concrete walls that streak in rain - apply neat, 40 ml/m².
  • Unpolished natural stone with Mohs ≤5 needing dark enhancement - spot test, apply neat, 40 ml/m².

How to Apply

  1. Clean with MN Wash & Clean; rinse and let dry 24-48 h.
  2. Stir MN Betoncoating; do not dilute.
  3. Roll or brush a thin, even layer at 40 ml/m²; keep a wet edge.
  4. After 20 min, remove puddles; allow foot traffic only after 4 h.

Covers 25 m²/L. Touch-dry in 30 min at 20 °C, fully cured after 24 h.

Surface Compatibility

Excellent on rough or sand-blasted concrete because its acrylic matrix bonds to the material’s open capillaries without sealing them completely, so vapour can escape. Neutral chemistry means it will not etch acid-sensitive fillers. Do not use on glazed tiles, dense granite, or any non-porous surface.

Choosing the Right Product

For routine washing after coating, use MN Wash & Clean. For invisible oil and water protection without colour change, choose MN Stain-Stop.

Pro Tips

  • Always coat the entire slab run; batch variations become invisible once the uniform black tone dries.
  • Apply a second thin coat on high-traffic zones after 2 h; it boosts film thickness by 50 % and wear life.
  • Maintain with pH-neutral cleaners; alkaline products (pH >10) can soften the acrylic after repeated use.

Frequently asked questions

Can MN Betoncoating be used on polished concrete indoors?

Only on surfaces with open porosity >10 %. Dense polished concrete will not absorb the 40 ml/m² film, leading to patchiness.

How long before I can park a car on a driveway treated with MN Betoncoating?

Wait 24 h at 20 °C for full cure; heavy loads before this can compress the fresh acrylic film.

Will MN Betoncoating change the slip resistance of concrete steps?

The 3 µm film adds less than 2 % change in pendulum value; rough finishes remain safe when dry. Wet slip testing is recommended.

How do I remove MN Betoncoating if I need to re-surface?

Strip with a low-odour paint remover containing 30 % methylene chloride, then pressure wash at 120 bar.
