Coverage: 10-25 m²/L
Faded cotto regains deep, warm colour in one 60 ml/m² coat.

Your terracotta kitchen floor has lost the warm, burnt-orange tone you loved on installation. Traffic, washing and UV have drawn the colour out, leaving a pale, dusty look. Ever-Sheen restores that depth and keeps the pores protected in a single, ready-to-use coat.

What Ever-Sheen Does

Ever-Sheen is a neutral enhancement coating for porous cotto and terracotta. The acrylic microfilm sits at 2-3 µm thickness, penetrating to 0.5 mm and hardening in 24 h. It deepens colour by up to 35 % reflectance, raises water-repellency to a 98° contact angle and dries slip-resistant because the pH-7 binder leaves no waxy layer.

When to Use

  • New cotto in a kitchen, first treatment after grouting - Ready to use, 70 ml/m² (cement residue removed first).
  • Weather-faded terracotta patio slabs - Ready to use, 60 ml/m² (outdoor cleaning done 24 h earlier).
  • Interior cotto hallway needing colour refresh every 2 y - Ready to use, 50 ml/m².
  • Low-porosity clinker steps that require a satin finish - Ready to use, 40 ml/m².

How to Apply

  1. Clean the surface with Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner, rinse twice and let dry 12 h.
  2. Pour Ever-Sheen into a paint tray and load a lambswool applicator.
  3. Spread a thin, even film (50-90 ml/m²) in straight passes; avoid pooling. Wait 30 min.
  4. For extra gloss, apply a second coat crosswise after 4 h surface dry.

Coverage: 10-25 m²/L depending on porosity. Surface is walkable after 4-8 h, fully cured and chemically resistant after 24 h at 20 °C.

Surface Compatibility

The formula bonds best with highly porous terracotta and cotto, whose Mohs-3, acid-sensitive matrix absorbs the neutral acrylic without etching. On denser clinker (Mohs 6) it gives a lighter satin. Do not use on glazed tiles, natural stone or any surface planned for wax finishing.

Choosing the Right Product

For day-to-day maintenance after sealing, use Lithofin Cotto Easy-Clean at 1:200. For deep grease or soap build-up before re-coating, use KF Intensive Cleaner 1:10. For colour intensification on marble or granite, use MN Colour Intensifier instead of Ever-Sheen.

Pro Tips

  • Test absorbency: drop 1 ml water; if it darkens in under 30 s, the surface is ready for Ever-Sheen.
  • Maintain gloss: damp-mop weekly with Cotto Easy-Clean; avoids alkaline film that can dull the sheen.
  • UV stability: re-coat outdoor areas every 18 months; keeps colour depth within 5 % of new tiles.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Ever-Sheen last on outdoor terracotta?

UV tests show 18–24 months before noticeable fade; re-coat when water darkens the tile in under 10 s.

Can Ever-Sheen be used on clinker?

Yes, at 40-70 ml/m² it provides a satin film, though colour change is milder than on cotto.

Will Ever-Sheen make cotto slippery?

No. Surface coefficient of friction stays at 0.55 dry, 0.42 wet, within DIN 51131 safety limits.

Does Ever-Sheen yellow under sunlight?

ΔE remains below 1.0 after 1 000 h QUV exposure; any shift is visually undetectable.
