What Onderhoudsset Does

Onderhoudsset is a neutral care kit for natural stone floors. The 2-product system pairs a pH ≈ 10 alkaline cleaner that breaks down fatty soils and soap scum with a pH ≈ 8 maintenance wash that lifts day-to-day dirt without leaving surfactant films. Solvents at <2 % dissolve light wax, while complexing agents bind Ca²⁺ to prevent streaks. One kit services 60-120 m² when dosed at 1:200.

When to Use

• First-time restoration of a limestone kitchen floor - dilute 1:10 for the initial scrub.
• Weekly wipe of a marble bathroom - dilute 1:200 in warm water.
• Post-renovation dust film on granite tiles - dilute 1:20, dwell 5 min.
• Traffic lanes on a slate entrance - dilute 1:15, agitate with soft pad.
• Quick refresh of porcelain kitchen plinths - dilute 1:200, no rinse.

How to Apply

1. Vacuum the floor, then mix 50 ml cleaner with 1 L warm water (1:20) for deep cleaning.
2. Spread solution with a microfibre mop, keep surface wet for 5 minutes.
3. Scrub joints using a white pad, pick up slurry with a wet vac.
4. For daily care, add 25 ml maintenance wash to 5 L water (1:200) and mop; do not rinse.

One litre covers 5-15 m² at 1:20 or up to 300 m² at 1:200. Floor is touch-dry after 30 minutes at 20 °C and ready for foot traffic immediately.

Surface Compatibility

The formula is safe on acid-sensitive marble and limestone because the mildly alkaline pH will not etch CaCO₃. Low-foaming surfactants lift dirt from dense granite and basalt, while sequestrants keep pores open on porous sandstone and terracotta. Do not use on oiled wood or waxed cork.

Choosing the Right Product

For stain repellence after cleaning, apply MN Stain-Stop. For cement haze or heavy builders’ dirt, shift to MN Power-Clean.

Pro Tips

• Use 40 °C water: surfactant activity doubles between 20 °C and 40 °C, cutting dwell time by 3 minutes.
• Replace rinse water every 30 m² to prevent redepositing fine clay particles.
• Buff dry with a white pad: friction heat raises gloss on Mohs 3-4 stones by up to 10 GU.
