Lithofin MULTI-SEAL
Art. 095-11-B
Your newly laid matte gres kitchen floor clouds over every time you mop, and rough terracotta in the hallway still looks dusty no matter how hard you scrub. Multi-Seal ends that cycle by locking out dirt and adding a subtle satin finish in one fast coat.
What Multi-Seal Does
Multi-Seal is a neutral film-forming protector for porous and slightly textured indoor surfaces. The solvent-acrylate resin flows into capillaries ≤0.2 mm, dries in under 10 minutes, and hardens to a 0.5 µm layer that blocks oil, coffee, and dirt while raising colour depth by up to 15 %. At 12-15 m²/L you seal an average 25 m² kitchen with 2 L.
When to Use
- Matte gres tiles in a busy kitchen - apply neat, 80 ml/m².
- Terracotta hallway that absorbs every spill - apply neat, 80 ml/m².
- Clinker mud-room floor before winter salt - apply neat, 80 ml/m².
- Rough granite window ledges for easier dusting - apply neat, 80 ml/m².
- After deep cleaning a stone shower - apply neat, 80 ml/m².
How to Apply
- Clean the surface thoroughly and let it dry to ≤4 % moisture.
- Pour Multi-Seal into a paint tray; do not dilute.
- Spread evenly with an applicator or microfiber pad, working 2 m² sections and maintaining a wet edge.
- Allow to dry 10 minutes; walk-safe immediately, full hardness after 2 hours.
Coverage 12-15 m²/L; one 1 L bottle treats a 14 m² bathroom. No re-coat needed unless traffic dulls the sheen.
Surface Compatibility
Excellent results on porcelain, ceramic, glass mosaic, terracotta, cotto, and clinker because the neutral resin bonds without etching acid-sensitive minerals. Good on marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, bluestone, basalt, granite, concrete, and terrazzo; always test first as colour enhancement varies. Do not use on any surface directly exposed to rain, UV, or freeze-thaw cycles.
Choosing the Right Product
For routine washing before sealing, use Universal Cleaner diluted 1:10. For invisible oil and wine resistance on polished stone, use Universal Stain-Stop. Multi-Seal sits between them, giving both stain protection and a satin finish.
Pro Tips
- Buff with a white pad after 15 minutes to raise gloss by an extra 5 GU; avoids streaks.
- On very porous cotto apply a second coat wet-on-wet within 5 minutes; this cuts future maintenance time by 30 %.
- Refresh high-traffic zones annually with a 1:4 mix of Multi-Seal and water; saves product and keeps a uniform sheen.

Frequently asked questions
Can Multi-Seal be used on polished marble?
Yes, but test a 20×20 cm patch first; colour may deepen by up to 10 %.
How long does Multi-Seal last on terracotta?
Indoor traffic areas keep protection 2–3 years; re-apply when water no longer beads at 110°.
Does Multi-Seal change the slip resistance of porcelain?
It raises gloss by 5 GU but leaves R-rating unchanged; DIN 51130 tests show no measurable difference.
Multi-Seal vs. Stain-Stop on granite?
Stain-Stop is invisible and purely impregnating; Multi-Seal adds a satin film and gives longer oil resistance (12 h vs. 6 h).
