Lithofin KF Grout Cleaner
Art. 115-21-B
Your bathroom grout looks grey after only six months, soap residue has glued dust into the joints, and standard tile cleaners slide off the problem. Lithofin KF Grout Cleaner solves this exact situation, restoring bright lines between tiles in five minutes.
What KF Grout Cleaner Does
KF Grout Cleaner is an acidic cleaner for ceramic and porcelain tile grout. At pH 1.5 it breaks down calcium-based limescale, soap fats, and iron stains by converting them into water-soluble salts you rinse away. Surfactants lift organic grime so you scrub 30 % less, and the ready-to-use gel stays on vertical joints for a full 5-minute dwell time.
When to Use
- Shower walls with mould-free but grey grout - use undiluted, 120 ml/m²
- Kitchen floor joints darkened by grease splash - use undiluted, 150 ml/m²
- Outdoor porcelain patio joints with rust flecks - use undiluted, 130 ml/m²
- Pre-sealing clean before KF Grout Protector - use undiluted, 100 ml/m²
How to Apply
- Shake the bottle, then brush the undiluted liquid directly onto the grout lines at 100-150 ml/m² - use a nylon grout brush.
- Wait 5-10 minutes; keep the area wet by re-brushing every 2 minutes.
- Scrub until the original grout colour re-appears; rinse twice with clean water.
- Neutralise any splashes on acid-sensitive stone with water and KF Conditioning Cleaner.
One 500 ml bottle covers 3-5 m² of joint area. Joints dry in 15 minutes; you can re-seal after 60 minutes.
Surface Compatibility
You safely use the product around porcelain, ceramic, granite, slate, and concrete because their Mohs hardness is 5-7 and they resist acids. The low-viscosity gel stays in the grout groove, so polished tiles stay untouched. Do not use on marble or other acid-sensitive stone grout joints without masking.
Choosing the Right Product
For ongoing weekly maintenance of tile surfaces, use KF Conditioning Cleaner. For long-term stain protection after the grout is clean and dry, apply KF Grout Protector at 40 ml/m².
Pro Tips
- Warm joints to 20 °C before cleaning; reaction speed doubles versus 10 °C.
- Use a toothbrush for 3 mm mosaic joints to keep the 100 ml/m² dosage accurate.
- Rinse with de-ionised water if you live in a hard-water area; this prevents new limescale from forming.

Frequently asked questions
Can KF Grout Cleaner damage polished granite tiles?
No. Granite at Mohs 7 is acid-resistant, and the gel targets only the lower grout channel.
How often do I need to reapply KF Grout Cleaner in a shower?
Clean every 3–6 months or once joints lose 20 % of their original brightness.
Is KF Grout Cleaner safe on epoxy grout?
Epoxy grout is already stain-resistant; the cleaner shows little effect, so skip this application.
Should I seal grout after using KF Grout Cleaner?
Yes. Once dry, apply KF Grout Protector at 40 ml/m² to slow new staining by up to 70 %.
