Wine rings on quartz? Protector locks them out with one 10-minute wipe.

Your quartz-composite kitchen island shows dark rings every time red wine sits for longer than a few minutes. Bathrooms with matt porcelain vanities pick up greasy fingerprints that refuse to wash off. Protector 345 stops the stains before they start.

What Protector Does

Protector is a neutral solvent-based impregnator for low-porosity engineered and natural stone. Its pH≈7 carrier drives 2-3 % fluoropolymer solids 1-2 mm into the surface, lining the micro-capillaries with a 115° water-contact-angle film that blocks oil and dye molecules for up to 24 months.

When to Use

  • Freshly installed quartz-composite worktops - apply undiluted (1:0) before first use.
  • High-traffic hotel vanities made from porcelain - one flood coat undiluted, repeat after 10 min.
  • Polished granite reception desks exposed to coffee - single wipe-on coat, undiluted.
  • Textured ceramic splash-backs that trap grease - spray undiluted, back-roll immediately.
  • Concrete countertops requiring hydrophobic protection - liberal undiluted application followed by wet-on-wet top-up.

How to Apply

  1. Ensure the surface is dry (<12 % moisture) and clean; pre-wash with Lithofin PRO Clean & Care and wait 24 h.
  2. Saturate a lint-free cloth or low-pressure sprayer with Protector and spread a wet film; consumption 35 ml/m².
  3. After 10 min, redistribute excess using a new cloth until the surface looks even and streak-free.
  4. Let air-dry 60 min; avoid water, oil, or foot traffic for the full 24-h cure.

Typical coverage: 25-40 m²/L on polished quartz, 15 m²/L on textured concrete. Touch-dry in 1 h, fully cured in 24 h at 20 °C.

Surface Compatibility

Protector shows excellent results on quartz composite because its low-viscosity carrier matches the material’s Mohs 7, low-porosity matrix. It also bonds well to acid-resistant granite, porcelain, ceramic, and high-porosity concrete without altering gloss. Do not use on waxed, acrylic-coated, or any surface sensitive to solvents.

Choosing the Right Product

For routine neutral cleaning after sealing, use Lithofin PRO Clean & Care. For deeper impregnation of very absorbent natural stone, use Lithofin PRO Stain-Stop.

Pro Tips

  • Warm the room to 18-25 °C; higher temperature halves cure time by accelerating solvent flash-off.
  • Always double-wipe polished slabs; leaving residue can cut stain repellency by 30 %.
  • Re-test after one year: place a water droplet for 10 min; if the stone darkens, reapply Protector.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Protector repel oil on quartz-composite?

Expect up to 24 months under normal kitchen use; high-abrasion areas may need recoat after 12 months.

Can Protector be used on polished granite floors?

Yes. Granite’s Mohs 7 hardness and low porosity match the product. Coverage averages 30 m²/L.

Will Protector change the gloss of porcelain tiles?

No visual change. The 2–3 % solids sit below the surface, adding less than 1 GU at 60° gloss measurement.

Is a second coat of Protector necessary on concrete?

Highly absorbent concrete may need a wet-on-wet second coat within 15 min to ensure full saturation.
